Specification Stone Products. Specification Stone Products operates in Alpena Michigan. The Alpena quarry was purchased in 1987 from Straights Aggregates which was owned by the Detroit and Mackinaw Railroad. They started the quarry in 1980. In 2009 the Alpena operations were purchased by the Levy Group of Companies.
The quarry later became part of the J. P. Burroughs Company which was the limestone provider to local construction and landscaping efforts. In 1985 the Edw. C. Levy Co. purchased the J. P. Burroughs Company including the Wallace Stone Quarry. The acquisition became part of its Michigan aggregate operation under Burroughs Materials.
